** FRUIT OF THE WORD * COUNT YOUR BLESSINGS * December 5, 2005 * Walking with God **

COUNT YOUR BLESSINGS

Whoever is blessed in the land will be blessed by the God of truth, and whoever swears in the land will swear by the God of truth. For the former troubles will be forgotten and hidden from My sight.
Isaiah 65:16 (HCSB)

To the optimist the simple things in life are the constant source of joy --spontaneous laugher, the bright rays of the sun, the sound of the birds in the trees.
People who count their blessings experience extreme happiness. Even in the darkest moments they maintain a Spirit of hope and optimism, because they know things will work out well.
The more you count your blessings, the more it will seem as if God pours them out upon your life. Your heart will overflow with gratitude for God's amazing grace and even more amazing love. When life becomes a burden and seems ominously dark around you, recalling your blessings is a sure way to keep a healthy perspective.

** FRUIT OF THE WORD DEVOTIONS * CONDEMNATION * December 4, 2013 * **

CONDEMNATION

Therefore, no condemnation now exists for those in Christ Jesus, 2 because the Spirit’s law of life in Christ Jesus has set you free from the law of sin and of death.
Romans 8:1-2 (HCSB)

God assures me that there is not condemnation for those who belong to Him. Though, I believe Christ has freed me from sin --through His death on the cross --I continue to struggle with feelings of condemnation. I long to experience the full liberation God has made possible --His Spirit can assist me with this.

I ask the Holy Spirit to help me find freedom from feelings of accusation. I acknowledge that those feelings have no basis in reality. Then I look to God through eyes of faith. I delight myself in His heavenly of approval. The more I connect with Him by focusing on His Presence, the more I can receive His loving affirmation. The best antidote to feelings of condemnation is experiencing His love for me.

I can also fight condemning feelings by pondering the truths of the gospel. The devil is the Father of lies, and He specializes in deception. Confront His hellish lies with biblical truth.

Finally, I remember that His Spirit is the Spirit of Life. Feelings of condemnation drain me of energy, leaving me vulnerable. As His Spirit fills me with Life, I am empowered to live abundantly --to the full.

** Daily Devotions * December 4, 2013 * Jesus Today My Version **

I RELAX IN GOD'S PRESENCE KNOWING THAT nothing can separate me from His Love. The worst-case scenario in my life --that He may stop loving me --is not even in the realm of possibility. I rejoice that I don’t have to perform well enough to earn His Love, or to keep it. His Love is a pure gift. Flowing out of His own perfect righteousness. It secures my connection to Him --my savior --for all eternity

When things are going well in My life I will enjoy those good times fully --without worrying about what is on the road ahead. When I face tough times, He will help Me and strengthen Me with His Love.

"height or depth, or any other created thing
will have the power to separate us
from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord!"
Romans 8:39 (HCSB)

"The thief does not come except to steal,
and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that
they may have life, and that they may have
it more abundantly."
John 10:10 (NKJV)

Jesus Lives
by Sarah Young

HIS LIGHT SHINES ON ME CONTINUALLY WETHER I AM AWARE OF IT OR NOT. During the wee hours of the night, My thoughts are often distorted --even catastrophic. Although I may feel as if I'm enveloped in darkness, I remember that darkness and Light are alike to Him. He is with me and His love me never fails. I need the Light of His Presence supremely more than I need the Light of day.

When the day before me seems dark and threatening, I can still trust God to guide me. Walking by faith is akin to using radar to discern the way I should go. Instead of trying to see through the clouds of uncertainty up ahead, I fix My eyes on Him. He can show me a way forward where there appears to be none. Moreover, as I strive to stay in communication with Him, my soul opens up to Him. Even in the midst of my struggle, His loving Presence can fill my soul with warm delight.

If I say, “Surely the darkness will hide me,
and the light around me will be night” —
12 even the darkness is not dark to You.
The night shines like the day;
darkness and light are alike to You.
Psalms 139:11-12 (HCSB)

Let me experience
Your faithful love in the morning,
for I trust in You.
Reveal to me the way I should go
because I long for You
Psalms 143:8 (HCSB)

For we walk by faith, not by sight,
2 Corinthians 5:7 (HCSB)

Therefore strengthen your tired hands and weakened knees,
Hebrews 12:12 (HCSB)

BE THANKFUL FOR EVERYTHING

All the days of the oppressed are miserable,
but a cheerful heart has a continual feast.
Proverbs 15:15 (HCSB)

The average Christian is so busy looking fro a spectacular revelation of the miracle-working God that He is not able to see God at work in the common, everyday things.

When we learn to appreciate the small blessings from God, we will  see just how God is at work in our lives. The wonder of friendships --the kindness of strangers --an understanding heart --these are all expressions of God's greatness and blessings.

A decision should be made to never take anything for granted --just think -- your eye-sight, your sense of smell, your healthy brain --all of these we take for granted. We should thank God for every blessing. Thus, we unlock treasure room of God and fill our life with new beauty  and riches.

** Daily Devotions * INNER STRENGHT * December 2, 2013 * FRUIT OF THE WORD **

Unbelievably, the trials I have lived through should of reduced me to shreds. I know in My heart, I should not feel calm. However, I only feel peace. Because of God's strength, I can smile. I stand strong. I experience a peace that surpasses understanding. I relax as I trust in the Lord.

"I pray that He may grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with power in the inner man through His Spirit,"  Ephesians 3:16

** Daily Devotions * BROKENNESS * December 2, 2013 * Jesus Today Devotional **

Jesus Lives
by Sarah Young

Brokenness
MY WEAKNESS AND BROKENNESS DRAW ME EVER SO NEAR TO HIM. I can open to Him because He understands Me perfectly. His passion for Me is overflowing. As I open up to His healing Presence, He fills Me with peace that transcends understanding. I stop trying to figure everything out. Instead, I lean on Him letting My head rest on His chest. While I rest, He will be watching over Me and all that concerns Me.

I trust God in the depts. of My being where I live in union with Him. Though the mountains be shaken and the hills be removed, yet My unfailing love for you will never be shaken. This is the essence of God's compassion for m: no matter how desperate My circumstances, the one thing I can always count on is His unfailing Love.

He will not break a bruised reed,
and He will not put out a smoldering wick;
He will faithfully bring justice.
Isaiah 42:3 (HCSB)

Though the mountains move
and the hills shake,
My love will not be removed from you
and My covenant of peace will not be shaken,”
says your compassionate Lord.
Isaiah 54:10 (HCSB)

Trust in the Lord with all your heart,
and do not rely on your own understanding;
Proverbs 3:5 (HCSB)

Don’t worry about anything, but in everything, through prayer and petition with     thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. 7 And the peace of God, which surpasses every thought, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.

Phil 4:6-7 (HCSB)
